This tradional Gaelic knot with its enterlocking circles has over time come to symbolise lovers.The knot can be found in all the major Illuminated gospels of the Celtic Church of 6-10AD Ireland, Scotland, Northumbria and Wales.Many of the Classic annulars of the period have this knot woven into its design.

The Harp in the South.
Options
The quintessential symbol of Ireland is the Harp,and in Australia the Southern Cross constellation,symbolizes the Southern Hemisphere. I have brought the two together as a celebration of Irish imigration to Australia. The Stars are in Sterling Silver and the Harp in 9ct Rose Gold. The Harp, as with all my work has been hand carved WITHOUT the aid of any magnifying glass. Deep Green COLORIT enamel fills the background.

Here is my contribution to the world of Claddagh rings. I was inspired with the idea of an IRISH crown on the heart, so a Shamrock became the center of the design.Created at lunch with Miriam on St Valentine's Day in "Mary Gilhoolies",bar,Lismore 2001.The hands holding the heart are my own hands sketched into the art work.

The Fifteen Balls on the Cornish Badge represents the 15 Besants (Byzantian Gold Coins), that was rased to pay the randsom for the Earl of Cornwall,held captive by the Saracens.I have made the Besants from inserting pins of silver into the base of the sheld and filled the back round with black COLORIT enamel.

The Abernethy Ring
