The J has been inspired by the Hunterston Annular brooch 7AD-8AD Ireland.Made for an aristocrat and as the brooch was found in Scotland they were possably of the Dal Raida.The knot work is from the Book of Lindisfarne,St Johns Gospels folio 208.

A Fantastic example of Kells zoomorphic.Here we have a cat and a bird in a gripping struggle. This capitol C is to be found in folio 91r,Matthew XXI,The Entry in to Jerusalem.I had to rework the claws as the page has been danaged at that point.Now we are using colour,and its become more like the pages of the Book of Kells.

There are several examples of the capitol letter P in the Book of Kells, but all difficult to translate into a beautiful piece of jewellery that was recognizable as a letter P, so this one is made utilizing the lions head from a letter P and the lower knot from a letter R in the Book of Kells. Gospels according to St Mark, AD 698, Book of Lindisfarne. Note the long snouted Northumbrian dogs. There are 4 men who are named as the makers of the Lindisfarne Gospels.Bishop Eadfrith,who is reputed as having writen the manuscript.Bishop Eadbert, who bound it. Billfrith the Anchorite provided the jewels, gold and silver that decorated the Book's cover.And lastly Aldred,who's infamy, was to add English text under the Latin lines.
