Soma and Ardagh Brooch
This brooch is made up of two designs. The outer circle is from an Irish horse harness from the late 9th century CE. Interestingly, this was found in 1950 at a site in Norway known as Soma Farm.
The central design is adapted from the Ardagh Chalice, one of the oldest relics of Celtic history found in Ireland. I adapted it from a decorated rivet head that holds the cross on the face of the chalice.
It is 4.2cm in diameter.
